"Defining, Identifying and Protecting Old-growth Forest in Victoria"

Picture
Trevor Poulton was involved in the campaigns for ending logging in the Otways and Goolengook in Victoria.  Having formed the view that there has been an omission by institutions, and groups to fully investigate and invest resources into defining old-growth forest, he wrote the report/book titled: Defining, Identifying and Protecting Old-growth Forest in Victoria.

The Book provides an understanding of the term ‘old-growth forest’ and how it has been identified by the state government in the field. Also, examines appropriate and transparent methodologies for identifying and monitoring the protection of old-growth forest.
The work is extremely important for clarifying the meaning of old-growth forest in Victoria.  Trevor said, "In life, one must know, or at least have a strong idea, of what one is actually fighting for."
